How We Work
THE PROCESS
Get in Touch
Tell us about your writing project. You can contact us by email or use the contact form provided on the “CONTACT US” page
Communicate
We will contact you by email to discuss your project and the scope of work. If necessary, we can also communicate using Skype, though email communication is usually sufficient.
If you are a new client, we will request you to send a sample of your writing so that we can assess the editing needs of your project and prepare a quote based on the estimated time required for editing your manuscript.
Quote and Agreement
You will receive a quote from us based on our assessment of the sample and the amount of work required for your specific project.
We will send you a simple letter of agreement for working together to be signed by both parties. Along with the agreement, we will send you an invoice for half of the payment, which you can deposit using an easy to use online payment system (PayPal or credit card) that can be directly accessed from the invoice.
Completion of Work
Your manuscript will be edited within the agreed time frame (usually 3–5 days for a journal article and 3–4 weeks for a master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation, though this will vary).
Upon completing the editing, we will send you a final invoice for the second payment. As soon as your payment has been received, we will send you the edited manuscript.
To reassure you of our integrity and trustworthiness, we would be happy to send you up to half of the edited document extracted from the first half or from the second half of the manuscript (according to your preference), before you make the final payment. If you have submitted a dissertation or book for editing, we can offer you an alternative arrangement in which we send you completed chapters before submitting the full edit. Our aim is to build longstanding relationships with our clients based on mutual trust, while at the same time following a streamlined payment procedure.
You will receive two versions of the edited manuscript in Microsoft Word: a clean copy and a tracked copy (including comments to help you clarify or improve your text).
Review
We provide one free clarification round for journal articles and other short manuscripts after you have made revisions. For longer manuscripts, such as dissertations, you may consult us on specific points after making your revisions.
